Jathirathnalu fame Anudeep’s First Day First Show was released this week, and going by the response from the audience, it is one of the most atrocious films of the year.
Many are walking out of the film within 30 minutes. The film is unbearable from start to finish. The whole movie is centered around Pawan Kalyan and how the hero gets the tickets for the film Khushi on its FDFS.
No scene of the movie is complete without the dialogue, “I am a Pawan Kalyan fan” and “I want Khushi movie tickets.” Even old characters in the film claim to be fans of Pawan Kalyan, which is ridiculous.
It’s ok to make a film and include some fan service to praise* your favorite star, but to make a full film with only senseless bhajana scenes deserves only brickbats and nothing else.
Even in Vakeel Saab, the first half of the film is mostly about how great Pawan Kalyan’s character is and how he is the greatest human to walk on the face of the earth.
The makers should understand that even hardcore fans will get frustrated by such nonstop bhajana. It is embarrassing, to say the least. The makers should make a movie that will be accepted universally and not just by a set of fans. The normal movie-going audience just can’t stand such films.
Hope the sorry fate of First Day First Show will make filmmakers realize in the future that it’s better not to rub Pawan Kalyan bhajana on all sets of audience and turn off people who have come to watch some interesting cinema.
