Prabhas and Prashant Neel’s Salaar which was supposed to release on September 28th now stands postponed. The makers are unlikely to announce a new release date, but there are reports about the movie releasing in December.
Meanwhile, there is a discussion about the reason for the postponement.
One popular reason is that Neel is apparently unhappy with the CG work of an important block in the film and wants to get it redone. But some people in the industry say it is not the reason.
The makers of Salaar are trying to sell the film unlike KGF 2 and Kantara. But then, the demand is mixed due to the exorbitant prices they are quoting.
In some areas, they are allowing specific negotiation and in the rest of the areas, they are even ready for their own release. But then, the North has become a problem.
Distributors are not coming forward for the huge demands Hombale Films are making. Only Anil Thadani has come forward to release the film for a 100 Crore advance. But the producers are not satisfied. They do not want to go for release without closing the Hindi business.
After the super success of KGF 2 in Hindi markets, North is an important business avenue for Salaar, Hombale Films feel.
So, they have decided to take more time to close the deal by taking more time.
