Andhra Pradesh is going to follow the foot steps of Tamil Nadu when the state goes to polls in Telangana and Seemandhra respectively. In order to boost the polling percentage a mandate has been passed to stop the movie screenings at the time of elections.
So on April 30 in Telangana and on May 7th in Seemandhra, there will be no screening till evening 6 PM. What’s more even for actors to actively participate in the elections and exercise their vote, shooting of the films too have been cancelled by the Film chamber on those two days.
The Tamil film industry turned out in numbers today including the stars to cast their vote. Unfortunately the same couldn’t be said for the Hindi counterparts as many chose to be present at the venue of an Awards function happening over the weekend in US, rather than voting. Bollywood actors as a result are getting all round flak for this. We have to see which side our Telugu actors fall in.
