Today, the World woke up to the news of HYDRAA demolishing Nagarjuna’s N-Convention in Madhapur.
The convention center was built in the buffer zone of a lake and has been in talks for years now.
N-Convention is built on 10 acres. As per the executive engineer (North Tank Division), the FTL area of Thammidi Kunta is 29.24 acres and the encroachments by N-Convention are around 1.12 acres in FTL and 2 acres in the buffer zone.
It is a shock how the Government acted so swiftly in this matter.
In the last couple of days, there were reports in the media about HYDRAA getting complaints about the encroachments by N-Convention.
Normally in such cases, the owner is supposed to go to court and bring an interim order staying the proceedings but Nagarjuna did not.
Probably, he thought the Government would not resort to such an extreme step.
There is another version of that as well. It is unlikely that the government will raze down the convention center without prior notice or giving information to Nagarjuna.
Probably, those in power informed the actor that there was no going back and the demolition was inevitable.
Maybe Nagarjuna does not want to take the legal route and get bad press as he himself is aware of the violations.
