Will The Biggies Survive ‘Unusually’ Packed Final Quarter?

Pawan Kalyan - Chiranjeevi - Prabhas - YashWe are currently only focussing on the summer (particularly April) schedule of Telugu cinema and focus on the releases that are getting postponed. However, if we look beyond, there is a massive cluster building in the final quarter which is directly related to the ‘present’.

It all came into the open a few days ago when the makers of KGF: Chapter 2 announced its release date. The epic second part will be hitting screens on October 23. However, what many are not aware of is that a bunch of biggies are also targeting the same period. It is either that way from the start or due or due to the recent delays caused by Coronavirus.

To give a glimpse, Megastar Chiranjeevi’s next titled Acharya, Prabhas20, NBK-Boyapati3, Superstar Rajinikanth’s Annaaatthe, are all set to release around the same period in October 2020. There are Ajith’s next Valimai and Pawan Kalyan’s 27th in the mix with a few weeks gap.

What makes it difficult for these films is the readjustments of several medium budget movies. They were previously locked for other dates. A ripple effect is likely to be created that would make the final quarter very congested.

These biggies are getting sold at record prices, and everyone would want a clean weak, at the very least. But do they have that is the question?

In the Sankranthi festive season that we witnessed earlier in the year, a couple of biggies survived coming at the same time. However, here it will be a case of the same happening in back to back weeks.

No matter of how anticipated, can biggies survive such a deluge needs to be seen. Or will there be some unexpected change in dates? Let’s wait and watch.
