A few years back, Malobika collaborated with Vijay Deverakonda on the music video “Nee Venakale Nadichi.” During a candid interview discussing the project, she playfully remarked that Vijay appeared less interested in Hindi and made fun of the language.

However, her casual remark was quickly misconstrued and amplified on social media negatively, leading to a wave of misunderstanding between them.
Malobika expressed frustration over the incident, emphasizing that her words were not meant to offend Vijay or imply any dislike towards Hindi on his part.

She sincerely apologized to Vijay Deverakonda for any unintentional offense caused and regretted how the situation strained their friendship. She lamented losing touch with Vijay following the controversy.
