WW BO: What Is Devara’s Status?

NTR’s big league theatrical outing Devara had its theatrical debut on the 27th of this month and it opened big at the box office. Now that the weekend has passed and the all-important Monday test is done, here is a look at the box office numbers of the film.

The worldwide gross is in upwards of Rs 300 crore with the Nizam and AP alone contributing to half of it – Rs 150 crore.

Karnataka and Tamil Nadu have combined to add another Rs 33 crore to the tally. Hindi has contributed nearly Rs 49 crore to the gross collections which is again a good number.

The film has done Rs 28 crore gross in the ceded belt which is again a good number. But perhaps with a better performance in weekdays, it could have reached the Rs 30 crore mark. The North American gross tally is at Rs 45 crore.

All in all, Devara is scaling up to be a decent follow up film for NTR after RRR as it is turning out to be a commercial success. Content-wise, there are obvious shortcomings but commercially, things are looking alright.
