Yash’s ‘Condom Ad’ Question Sparks Massive Backlash

Yash's witty reply sparks debate

Yash is known for his sharp sense of humour, and he once again showed it during his appearance on Rajat Sharma’s Aap Ki Adalat while promoting Toxic. During the interview, Yash was asked about a derogatory social media comment comparing the Tabaahi song from Toxic to a “condom ad.” Instead of getting defensive, Yash responded with his trademark wit.

Yash reportedly said that if he ever did a condom advertisement, he would do it for the money and would not do it for free. While Yash’s response was seen by many as a clever way of handling an awkward question, the question itself has now become the bigger talking point on social media.

Several users are questioning why such a comment was brought up during an interview on Aap Ki Adalat. The show has traditionally been positioned as a mainstream programme with a wide family audience. Many felt that asking a star about such a derogatory sexual comparison was unnecessary and in poor taste.

The backlash is mainly about the nature of the question rather than Yash’s answer. Some social media users have even called it “shameless journalism,” arguing that a senior journalist and interviewer should have exercised better judgment while selecting questions, especially for a programme watched by families that usually airs on Sunday mornings.

Ironically, Yash handled the situation far better than the question itself deserved. Instead of allowing the awkward remark to derail the conversation, he turned it into a joke and moved on.

Now, the discussion around the interview has shifted to a more uncomfortable question: Did Rajat Sharma cross the line by asking it in the first place?
