Toxic Box Office Collection Slows Down
Toxic is slowing down at the box office, and Tuesday’s numbers have added to the concern. The film made around Rs 8.20 crore net in India on its seventh day. That takes the seven-day total to roughly Rs 229.95 crore. The worldwide gross is around Rs 313.55 crore.
The problem is the fall from the opening. Toxic began with Rs 101.10 crore net on Day 1. It was expected to stay on a stronger track after such a start, but the weekday business has been much lower.
The audience verdict has been mixed, which has not helped the film hold its numbers during the week. The difference between the opening-day collection and the current daily figures is now quite large.
There is still a second weekend ahead, so the final result cannot be judged yet. But the film has already missed the kind of first-week momentum that could have taken it towards a much bigger total.
For now, the biggest question is how much Toxic can recover over the weekend. If the weekday trend continues, a sizeable portion of its box-office potential could be lost.
