The Cyberabad police have laid down guidelines for spa centres in the city. They have given strict instructions that the spas must operate between 9 am and 9 pm.
They made it clear that spas cannot operate in residential areas. They also warned that stringent measures will be taken if sexual activities take place in the name of spa massages.
The spas must now have qualified professionals like physiotherapists or acupressure specialists. They must also maintain a register for customer information and employee details.
License numbers, fee structures and centre names must be displayed prominently. Also CCTVs must be installed in common areas, reception areas and entrances.
The idea is to reduce and put a stop to human trafficking and ensure safety of women and children.
With increasing number of sexual assault cases, the police are now cracking a whip on spas that are associated with shady activities and also ensure the safety of customers.
Recently, watching porn was made punishable to reduce voyeuristic instincts in people in the state.
