Ambati Moved On PT Warrant, Repeat Posani?

Ambati Rambabu police custody transfer

Ex minister and YSRCP leader Ambati Rambabu has been shifted from Rajahmundry jail to Guntur on a PT warrant. The transfer is linked to an earlier protest case involving a dispute with local police.

The incident dates back to November 12, 2025, when Pattabhipuram police registered a case against Ambati. The argument reportedly happened during protests against the government’s proposal to establish medical colleges in PPP model across the state.

On Monday, Guntur police moved Ambati to the city under the PT warrant procedure. At present, Ambati Rambabu remains in remand for allegedly using offensive and unprintable language against Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu.

Meanwhile, Ambati’s bail plea and the police custody petition are currently being heard by the Court. Legal proceedings are continuing as multiple cases related to the controversy remain under investigation.

Ambati’s daughter has been addressing the media through press meets. She claims her father was provoked into using foul language. However, political observers believe a senior leader should have anticipated the consequences.

AP political analysts say the incident crossed the line between responsible politics and what they describe as blue politics. They argue that apologising after using unparliamentary language does not reduce the seriousness of the issue.

Several cases have been filed across the state against Ambati in the CBN case. YSRCP cadre are concerned the situation could mirror Posani Krishna Murali’s case involving repeated PT warrants in different police stations.
