Cabinet Nod to Pending Land Acquisition: Amaravati

The Andhra Pradesh cabinet has approved the final phase of land acquisition. The pending 3,500 acres will be taken under the Land Acquisition Act, 2013. This step clears the way for major infrastructure projects in the state.

Out of the required 37,916 acres, 34,385 acres have already been acquired through land pooling. The focus on completing the process is to accelerate capital development. For the Outer Ring Road project, 1,702 hectares of land are needed. The project costs Rs 25,000 crore and covers 190 km with 10 lanes.

The government has also decided to create special purpose vehicles (SPVs) to push the work faster. The Chandrababu government has set the deadline for land acquisition by the end of 2025. All infrastructure works are targeted for completion by 2028. Farmers, who earlier resisted, are now cooperating after the government promised better compensation and stronger safeguards.

The Cabinet stressed that every step is aimed at ensuring smooth progress and timely completion of land pooling.
