Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu is actively working to improve the lives of citizens while keeping social and environmental concerns in mind. On Monday, he addressed the state’s Collectors and discussed new ways to monetise the free bus service.
Chandrababu shared that bus occupancy has increased since the launch of the free travel initiative. He added that regular diesel and petrol buses will eventually be replaced with electric vehicles. According to him, it would be ideal if EV companies could generate their own power.
This move, he said, will lower operational costs for the transport system. Following the EV transition, Chandrababu also plans to modernise bus depots across Andhra Pradesh.
He noted that revenue can be generated through advertising, cargo services, and commercial buildings. These innovative steps will help support the system financially without burdening the public.
Chandrababu further explained that EV buses with air conditioning will offer a more comfortable travel experience. This will likely increase the use of public transport, reducing the number of cars on the road and easing traffic.
