As part of the ongoing Special Summary Revision (SSR) of electoral rolls in Andhra Pradesh, 44,71,523 voters, representing 10.75% of the total voters in the state, have been shortlisted for removal.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) currently classifies these entries as “uncollectible” due to unresolvable enumeration forms, permanent migration, death, or duplicate entries. These names will be excluded from the draft electoral roll scheduled for publication on July 31.
The identified non-collectible category comprises 15.19 lakh deceased voters (3.65%), 14.34 lakh permanent migrants (3.45%), 7.76 lakh individuals unverified at given addresses (1.87%), and 7.32 lakh double entries (1.76%). Additionally, 8,55,560 votes have been placed under the “No Mapping” category due to errors or omissions in enumeration forms.
The highest concentration of proposed deletions is in Nellore district with over 2.90 lakh entries, followed closely by Tirupati, Kadapa, Visakhapatnam, and Guntur. These five districts collectively account for nearly 29% of the total pending deletions.
The Election Commission has provided a window from July 31 to August 30 for voters to submit claims, corrections, or objections regarding the draft list.
Field-level verifications will follow individual notices, with the resolution process running through September 28. Affected individuals must submit proper details using one of eleven prescribed identity and residence documents to ensure their names are reinstated in the final electoral roll set for publication on October 3.
