Political equations are changing dynamically in Telangana as the elections approach. It mentions that political parties like the Congress, BJP, and BRS are actively trying to attract leaders from rival parties.
The Congress party seems to be leading in this regard, particularly in luring leaders from the BJP and BRS. The passage also mentions that both Congress and BRS are now targeting strong candidates who have left the TDP.
The TDP still reportedly holds a decent vote share in Telangana, which could have an impact on the outcome in around 25 to 30 Assembly segments especially in the GHMC area, Khammam, and a few other pockets.
Under the leadership of Kasani Gnaneshwar, the TDP has become somewhat more active in Telangana. A large number of people and TDP activists came voluntarily to the assembly held in Khammam last year. The party has been holding assemblies and has seen a voluntary influx of people and TDP activists.
Kasani has appointed various party positions and constituency in-charges within the state. Additionally, the Telangana TDP President is conducting a “Bus Tour” to emphasize the importance of the TDP in the state.
Both the Congress and BRS are trying to convince Kasani to join their respective parties, but reportedly, Kasani has smoothly rejected their offers.
There are rumors that Kasani Gnaneshwar may contest as the TDP nominee from Secunderabad (Cantonment), while his son is expected to be the TDP candidate from Parigi (Ranga Reddy).
The TDP has historically enjoyed support from the BC (Backward Classes) voters in Telangana.
