It is almost confirmed that the Winter Session of Andhra Pradesh Assembly will take place in Acharya Nagarjuna University in Guntur district. It is said that the HH Deckman, Sir John David conference hall of the Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU) campus will be used for the session which begins from this month end or first week of December.
Speaker Kodela Siva Prasad Rao, Assembly officials, available MLAs will be visiting the University today and assess the possibilities. The conference hall is air-conditioned and can house up to 1000 people at a time. The only problem with the conference hall is the lack of mike available to every one’s place. Government is thinking on the lines to use cordless mike to overcome this problem.
In case, the University may not be sufficient to providing boarding for the leaders. Government is planning to give them accomodation in Vijayawada and Guntur and commute them for Assembly session. If the Winter session is successful, government will also consider having the next year budget session here.
