AP struggles at half way of Income Targets!

ap tax issuesAndhra Pradesh State which has inherited a deficit budget from the state bifurcation is struggling to steady its financial position. The state government has set a target of 37,846 Crores from various taxes from the appointed day (June 2nd) to the end of this financial year. However Andhra Pradesh’s Tax collections are no where near the target.

To be precise they did not achieve even half of the target. In the first six months of the state bifurcation, only 16,407.33 crores were collected from taxes which is only 43.24% of the target. Commercial Taxes and Mining departments are mainly lagging behind in the Tax collection targets. Commercial Taxes department collected 11647.87 Crores (40.51%) of the target 28,749.15 Crores. Mining department has got a paltry 29% (367.17 Crores) of the targeted 1226.50 Crores.

Transport, Excise and Registrations and Stamp Duties have achieved 57, 56 and 54% of their targets. With this the state have a daunting task of collecting about 57% of the target in the three months remained in this financial year.
