When the TDP and Janasena stitched their alliance before the last elections, most people brushed it off as just another political tie-up. The common belief was simple. It would hold till elections, maybe survive till government formation, and then break soon after. That is how political alliances usually work.
There is no denying that alliances are formed for political gain. Once power is secured and the honeymoon period ends, differences normally surface. Egos rise, authority issues creep in, and partners start pulling in different directions.
That is why the TDP-Janasena alliance has surprised many. Contrary to expectations, it has only grown stronger after coming to power.
In the early days, Pawan Kalyan did show some aggressive posturing towards a few TDP leaders, including Home Minister Anita, on a couple of occasions. But Chandrababu Naidu stepped in quickly and ensured there was no space for misunderstandings or friction at the top level.
What makes this alliance stand out is the strong bonding between Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, and Nara Lokesh.
Their coordination has set the tone for the entire alliance. Even the online fan bases, which once abused each other relentlessly, are slowly falling in line by following the lead of their top leadership.
A large share of the credit goes to Chandrababu Naidu.
His experience and handling ensured the alliance stayed away from the usual political mudslinging and internal drama.
Nara Lokesh has also played his part, maintaining a smooth working relationship with Pawan Kalyan. The effort is mutual, and it shows.
This growing unity is clearly uncomfortable for YSRCP and TDP–Jana Sena haters. They know one thing well. Unless this combination breaks, YSRCP has little room to regain strength.
As things stand, the alliance looks stronger by the day. Both parties are projecting a healthy and stable partnership, and importantly, Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan have repeatedly indicated that they see this alliance going beyond just this term.
“Just another alliance,” they said.
