Ahead of the assembly elections in Telangana, several leaders who had expected to receive party tickets were disappointed when they didn’t get them. Consequently, they began resigning one by one and exploring other political options. According to credible sources, Bandaru Vijayalakshmi, the daughter of Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, is preparing to bid farewell to the BJP and join the BRS party.
This development has caused a significant stir in Telangana and has become a major concern for the BJP. Governor Dattatreya, known as Dattana among Telugu people, has a well-established political career, having transitioned from the RSS to the BJP, where he served as a worker, leader, and state president before assuming the role of Governor of Haryana. His daughter, Vijayalakshmi’s decision to leave the BJP is a topic of widespread discussion.
Bandaru Vijayalakshmi had been eyeing the Mushirabad BJP seat for some time, but she was upset when the party allocated the seat to Pusala Raju. In addition to this, leaders from the ruling BRS party reportedly engaged in talks with her, offering a nominated position and inviting her to join their ranks.
Vijayalakshmi is said to be expressing to her close friends that she possesses the qualifications and credentials to hold a significant position in the party, not only as the daughter of the senior BJP leader Dattatreya. It appears that her supporters and well-wishers are disappointed that she was sidelined merely because she might have contested against Lakshman.
Vijayalakshmi has made the decision to leave the BJP and join the BRS party. Political analysts believe that if Dattana’s daughter, who has a long history in state politics, switches her allegiance, it will be a considerable setback for the BJP.
