Tirupati police have issued notices to YSRCP leader and former TTD chairman Bhumana Karunakara Reddy. He was summoned to the Varsity police station for questioning related to recent allegations he made.
Earlier, Bhumana alleged that several cows had died at the Sri Venkateswara goshala due to official negligence in April 2025. However, current TTD chairman BR Naidu strongly denied the claims, calling them politically motivated.
In September, the police once again served notices to Bhumana after he alleged severe negligence regarding Lord Vishnu’s idol near Alipiri’s old checkpost a charge that TTD officials also dismissed.
Meanwhile, the Chandrababu government has accused the previous YSRCP regime of using adulterated ghee containing animal fat in TTD’s prasadam laddoos. The issue caused international outrage among devotees.
Political tensions have since escalated, with YSRCP leaders accused of trying to tarnish TTD’s image as a counterattack against the Chandrababu-led government. However, TDP leaders maintain that TTD’s operations remain transparent and accountable.
