The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has announced plans to develop Vontimitta in Kadapa into a major spiritual and tourist hub. As part of the project, the town is set to house the world’s tallest Lord Rama statue, proposed to be 600 feet high.

The statue will be installed in the town’s tank and is expected to draw devotees and tourists for decades. The School of Planning & Architecture in Vijayawada has prepared the master plan, which includes modern facilities, beautification of the tank, and preservation of the site’s spiritual essence.

Vontimitta was chosen for its strategic location between the Kadapa-Renigunta national highway and the Chennai-Mumbai railway line. The area will be developed to handle tourist inflow for the next 30 years, blending religious significance with tourism potential.

TTD has been expanding its vision of spiritual tourism across Andhra Pradesh. Along with this project, it has also announced the construction of Lord Balaji temples across India and plans to build 1,000 temples in various districts of the state.
