Biryani Nightmare Continues In Hyderabad

Biryani Nightmare

Another incident in Hyderabad has sparked concerns regarding the unhygienic conditions of local restaurants.

On Saturday, eight individuals fell ill after consuming fish biryani from Deccan Elite Restaurant. The incident gained traction on social media when a user posted about finding what appeared to be a lizard’s tail in the biryani.

Sami, a partner at the restaurant, refuted the claims, asserting that the video circulating online was misleading. According to Sami, the incident occurred when a customer ordered fish biryani, consumed it outside the restaurant on a disposable plate, and later alleged finding a lizard’s tail. The restaurant owners suspect foul play, suggesting that competitors may be attempting to tarnish their reputation.

The concerned social media user called for action from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) against the restaurant. However, Sami emphasized that the restaurant undergoes regular quality checks, with no prior complaints reported to the GHMC or the police.

This incident follows previous instances of unappetizing discoveries in biryani, including a dead lizard in chicken biryani ordered through Zomato earlier this month and a cockroach found in mutton biryani from Meridian Restaurant in September.
