BJP had promised to do Loan Waiver if voted to Power in Uttar Pradesh. BJP won the election with a superb majority and Yogi Aditya Nath government is in the process of executing it. But then similar demands are cropping up from other BJP ruled states as well.

Maharashtra Chief Minister, Devender Fadnavis had announced that his government will roll out Loan Waiver very soon. Congress Party in Karnataka is also planning to announce similar scheme in 2018 and BJP is most likely to match the scheme.
More States are likely to come up with similar demands and that will be forced the BJP at the Center to come up with a National Wide Loan Waiver Scheme ahead of the 2019 elections. This will be a huge financial burden on the National Exchequer. So, BJP is in a Catch 22 Situation now.
