BJP Telangana State President Kishan Reddy was fully opposed to the alliance with TDP during the last elections. However Kishan Reddy has to heed to the decision of high command for both the general elections and the recent Medak bypoll. But now it is told that Kishan Reddy convinced the high command to allow the state unit to go single as an opposition. Kishan Reddy reportedly told them the party has the potential of rising as an independent force in the new state.
BJP high command however was little cautious in their approach. They gave the ‘go-ahead’ for Kishan Reddy but at the same time instructed him not to speak a word which will spoil their friendship with TDP. Also they have clearly stated that an alliance with TDP for the upcoming GHMC elections is still not ruled out. GHMC region has a good base of settler voters and BJP do not want to take risk by leaving out TDP which has very good image in them. The elections are expected to take place in November or December.
