Telugu Desam Party Supremo Chandrababu Naidu had intensified his efforts to appoint a senior Party functionary as the governor of any state in the country. Naidu took up the issue recently with BJP President, Amit Shah in a meeting and the latter responded positively to the request.

Telangana TDP Leader, Mothukupalli Narasimhulu is the front runner for this post. In case, the post is given to TDP, Narasimhulu is likely to be posted for a North Eastern State. There are about four vacancies at various Raj Bhavans in the country and the Union Home Ministry has initiated steps to fill up those.
During the talks of the alliance before the 2014 elections, BJP has promised one Governor Post to TDP. But then BJP is not honouring the commitments as it has absolute majority in Parliament and do not depend on TDP’s support.
