The leader of Opposition, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy frequently challenges the ruling party to come for direct elections so that he can show his power. But then, Jagan was suddenly taken back with the results of the byelections to 37 Municipal Wards in the state.

YSR Congress just managed to win Three wards while TDP managed to win 32 of them. Interestingly, YSR Congress could not even manage to put up a candidate in 21 places ensuring TDP candidates win unanimously in 20 of them.
Reports are emerging that Jagan is very upset on this results and could not digest losing wards in strong areas like Gudivada and Macherla. Jagan and YSR Congress Leaders are maintaining strategic silence on the issue in a bid not to give unnecessary focus to the elections. If this is the case for simple ward elections, can YSR Congress afford byelections to all the 21 MLA constituencies they are demanding for?
