Central government has proudly announced in Parliament that it had ‘helped’ Andhra Pradesh to the extent of 73000 Crore in the first two years after the state bifurcation. This seem to be a numbers game to mask the injustice being metted to the truncated state. 33523 Crore in 2014-15 and 39,615.05 Crore in 2015-16 are given via Share in Central Taxes, Unplanned schemes grants and State Planned Schemes grant.

This amount can not be termed as ‘help’ in any ways. Every state in the country has right over this amounts. Citizens in the states play taxes to the center and will in turn get some share in those. These are the rightful shares of the state from the center provided by constitution and can not be said as ‘help’ to the state.
The central government had only given additionally 6404 Crore to Andhra Pradesh. Out of which 2803 Crore is towards Revenue deficit and 700 Crore fund for the seven backward districts, 2050 Crore for Capital construction and paltry 850 Crore for Polavaram Project. This is not enough to help the state in distress in any way.
