There is no deviating the fact that Indian politics almost entirely revolve around money during the election period as hundreds of crores are spent by each party. The majority of this is spent on poll management.
Chief minister, Chandrababu Naidu has kept it very blunt while speaking about the aspect of paying money to votes during the election.
Chandrababu said each vote is valued at at least ₹2000 during the election, but the same political atmosphere charges more than ₹2,00,000 after the election.
This gives a perspective of how governments can be wasting public money at will after the election by paying a nominal ₹2000 for voters.
This is pretty straightforward talk from a chief minister who had been in politics for more than four decades. But the whole equilibrium revolves around spending money during the management, and this is a criteria that must be shifted very soon.
However, this is not entirely practical either, considering that parties are almost mandated to spend big money during the election process out of competition. It was right on the part of Chandrababu to address this issue in the first place, but actually implementing a no money election is far beyond comprehension in Indian politics, sadly.
