Before the 2024 election, the Kadapa segment was a bastion for YCP boss and the former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. But the situation has completely lopsided in the recent months after the election.
The increased participation and presence of Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh in the Kadapa region is spelling bad news for the local YCP leadership.
Chandrababu recently took part in a massive public meeting in Kadapa and confirmed that this region would be developed on power with Amaravati. He gave a strong indication that Rayalaseema and particularly Kadapa region will be the top priority for the TDP+ government.
Today, IT Minister, Lokesh made a visit to the Kadapa region, and he even launched the Dalmia cements project here. This is going to be one of the big investment projects and help generate human jobs locally, which would go well with the public here.
If we observe the recent pattern, it is becoming evident that Chandrababu and Lokesh have made it to maintain stable presence in Kadapa. This could be a strong show of power in this region, which is otherwise historically aligned with YS family.
It would take a lot to convince Kadapa people against the YS family, but this was made possible in the 2024 election as Jagan’s party was confined to single digits here which is the biggest shock it faced in Kadapa till now.
The good thing for TDP representative is that the leadership is not taking this significant shift in Kadapa people patterns for granted and are actually putting up positive work to make it all worth it.
