CBN: Curb Fake News By YSRCP

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu strongly criticised YSRCP, saying that spreading lies against TDP has become a regular practice. He expressed anger at YSRCP leaders for pushing false claims about Amaravati floods and project failures through their media outlets and social media platforms.

Chandrababu issued these instructions during a teleconference with MLAs, ministers, MLCs and MPs. He also gave guidelines about forming committees for Suparipalanalo Toli Adugu along with other organisational matters that would strengthen the party’s outreach and discipline across the state.

He directed TDP leaders to actively counter YSRCP’s narrative, especially about Amaravati. According to him, YSRCP is scaring people by claiming villages will submerge. At one point, they even spread stories accusing TDP of flooding Ponnur while working for Amaravati’s development.

On another occasion, YSRCP circulated news that the Ethipotala pumps at Kondaveeti lake were not functioning. They also claimed that the Prakasam barrage was damaged, creating panic among people. Chandrababu said such deliberate attempts are aimed at weakening public trust.

He urged TDP leaders to go among the people and condemn these false stories immediately. He stressed that leaders should highlight both good work and the wrongdoings of the opposition. If ignored, YSRCP will continue projecting fake news as though it is the truth.

Chandrababu warned that rowdies acting as politicians will be punished, and stressed that fake news must be curbed effectively. He added that TDP leaders must stay disciplined and leave no scope for mistakes. Workers who dedicate themselves to the party will get nominated posts.

He instructed that all committees should be formed by the end of August. He congratulated party members for victories in Pulivendula and Ontimitta. Chandrababu concluded by stressing that the alliance must win every election in the future without exception.
