Dharna chowk at Indira Park in Hyderabad is a place dedicated for the protests. The common man or the politician used to come over there and protest to convey their demands to be fulfilled. Now the Dharna Chowk itself has become the reason for a dharna which rose a war between the common man and the politicians.

Residents and Walkers association of Indira Park came over the Dharna Chowk, demanding the government to remove the Dharna chowk from Indira Park. Localities claim that the dharna’s held at Dharna Chowk have become a headache for them as their kids cannot go to schools on time, working men or women are not able to reach their workplaces on time with the barricades placed over the area almost all the time over a year.
They also claim that it has become a source of sound pollution and the air plus land pollution with the plastic flags and other dharna stuff. They demand the right to peace as the residents.
On the other side, social workers and political coordinators came over to protest against the removal of Dharna Chowk claiming that the Chowk is the point where anyone can express their demands and protest against any injustice.
Both the groups got into a vocal fight which led to the physical fight later on. Now the situation is a little critical and the police managed to control the fight though. Police have given the permission for the walkers association to protest with the barricades separating both the groups while CPI, CPM and JAC party coordinators protest with slogans “Dharna Bachao” on the other side of the barricades.
Jana Sena party team too have arrived in support to Dharna Bachao group.
