Kapu community rallied with Telugu Desam Party in the last elections. They form a significant force in the state after the division. Trials are on detach the community from TDP in the name of reservation. Many believe that Jagan is behind Mudhragada in this fiasco.

On the other side, Congress also wishes to enter the race. The party which is trying its level best to come out of the bifurcation blues, is contemplating the option of making Chiranjeevi as its CM candidate. Anyways there are no other ‘Popular faces’ in the grand old party.
They are hoping that such move will bring Kapu community closer to Congress. However political experts say this move will not help the party as Kapu community did not rally behind Chiranjeevi during his prime. They say his image got tarnished to a large extent now in politics, and will be no use to the party.
