PCC Serious About Rajagopal Reddy’s CM Taunts

Rajagopal Reddy under party scrutiny

Every action has its reaction, and this seems to be true in the case of Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy. The latest buzz in the Telangana Congress camp is that the PCC disciplinary committee is taking his comments seriously. Rajagopal Reddy, who represents Munugode, has been causing a stir within the party through his repeated remarks.

Although it is widely known that the Congress High Command in Delhi makes the final decisions, Rajagopal Reddy has been directly targeting Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. Before the Cabinet expansion in June 2025, which came 18 months after the party’s victory, he openly stated that he deserved a cabinet post for helping the party’s candidate win in Bhuvanagiri.

However, after being sidelined by the High Command, there was a short pause. Things heated up again when he took a jibe at the Chief Minister’s comment about ruling Telangana for ten years. Rajagopal Reddy responded sharply, saying Revanth Reddy had no authority to decide on two terms in power and that only the High Command could make that call.

More recently, he once again voiced his frustration about being left out of the cabinet. His comments suggested clear resentment as he claimed that junior leaders had bypassed him. He added that giving him a ministerial role would benefit the people of Munugode more than anything else.

In a rather pointed remark that many saw as aimed at Revanth Reddy, Rajagopal Reddy said he was not in politics to accumulate wealth or to beg for positions. He stressed that he would rather resign than create difficulties for the people he represents.

His frequent digs at the Chief Minister have not been well received by party leadership. Now, PCC disciplinary committee chairman Mallu Ravi is set to speak with Rajagopal Reddy over the phone on Thursday.

Whether this conversation will have any impact remains uncertain, especially given the Congress party’s long-standing record of internal disagreements.
