Despite Bifurcation Blues, AP leads the way for the nationAndhra Pradesh despite having to battle bifurcation blues, occupied the top slot in the country in terms of the growth rate of gross state domestic product (GSDP). The truncated state stood first in the country with 10.99% growth in GSDP for 2015-16. Following AP are Bihar (10.27%), MP (10.16%), Telangana (9.24%), Maharashtra (8%), Karnataka (6.2%), Odisha (6.16%) and Punjab (5.96%).

According to the official data, the state contributes about 4.3%of all-India gross domestic product. In terms of area, Andhra Pradesh is ranked in the country and 10th while population is taken in to consideration. AP’s per capita income crossed Rs 1 lakh mark for the first time during 2015-16, this is despite the state having no capital.

Andhra Pradesh under the leadership of Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu is trying his level best to steer the state out of trouble. The state government is hoping that they will become even better the next financial year after the administration is shifted from Hyderabad and the capital construction begins.
