In a spacial review meeting conducted today, KCR discussed the idea of doubling the salaries of MLAs and MLCs. KCR believes that doubling their salaries makes public legislators to work more honestly for the public and also the current paycheck is not sufficient to tour their constituencies.
According to the current pay framework MLAs are getting about Rs, 95,000 per month but KCR’s new proposal would bump it up to Rs, 2 Lakh rupees per month which will cost Rs 2.5 Cr per month and up to Rs 150 Cr in five years.
Chief Minister of Telangana strongly felt that even compensations MPs are getting from Center is insufficient to bear the present raising expenses asked the possibility of the state government giving a raise to them. KCR also promised to review the pension hike for former MLAs and MLCs as per the release from CMO office.
