Eenadu’s Front Page Blunder

The World Bank the other day, had published the Ease of Doing Business Rankings across the Globe. India which is ranked 130 last year jumped 30 places and is now placed at Rank 100. This is certainly a phenomenal achievement.

Hyderabad is ranked Second in the cities with Beter Ease of Doing Business. Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) is announcing the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) rankings of the states in association with the World Bank for the last few years.

Both these are two different things. Eenadu, the Most Popular Newspaper in the Telugu States mixed both of them and carried a news that Telangana is ranked First in the country among the states. But according to the EODD Rankings Page, the deadline for the contest is extended until 7th.

So, the rankings are not final. It is not confirmed if the rankings will be finalized on 7th or there will be another extension. Last year, we have seen about a dozen extensions. It is appaling to see a prime media channel doing such a glaring editorial blunder.
