Air India officials have clarified that the suspicious object found on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s standby flight is not a bomb but a mere plastic bag. It is known that the Boeing 747 after released for commercial operation reached Jeddah via Mumbai and Hyderabad and the security staff there found this object on the upper deck of the business class. Immediately, security officials at the airport were alerted, the plane was moved to an isolated place and the object was removed.
While initially it is said that it is a defused grenade, Air India now claims it to be a plastic bag. However there are doubts over the statement as if Air India is trying to brush the security lapse under the carpet. Earlier this morning Air India sources said the object may be placed by security/intelligence agencies to check the alertness of our aviation security wing and now this plastic bag thing may open several new doubts. However this incident will certainly put the security officials on a toe from now.
