True to the festive mood of the AIADMK cadre on Saturday, the heavy downpours alongwith thousands of Amma’s supporters welcomed her back to the Poes Gardens. It was on the foundation day of AIADMK on Friday, the news of Jaya’s release came in as like a situational scene in one of Amma’s films when she had been a film actress. And one could see in real the demi-goddess status she enjoys amongst her party members, cadre and supporters.
Jail officials say that Jaya maintained calm throughout after the news reached out to Jail on Friday evening pertaining to her bail and no sweets have been distributed within the Prison premises to celebrate the occasion. Contrary to that, celebrations marked the way from Parappanna Agrahara Prison to Chennai. The over excited AIADMK supporters broke into celebrations.
Performing abhishekams to her portraits, showering flowers, chanting slogans, distributing sweets and waiting for Jayalalitha at the Poes Gardens; it was a scenic frenzy to the onlookers. Admist heavy downpour, Jaya was given a thumping welcome from Chennai Airport to her residence. The release order by the Supreme Court coming on the party Foundation Day added to the sentiment and emotional connect.
