It is known to our readers that Hero Motocorp’s first manufacturing plant in South India will be coming up in Satyavedu, Chittoor district. Government had allotted 600 acres land to the plant. All these lands belong to the government but some farmers are using it to grow water melons.
Government has allowed them to use the land since the crop is taken and so the Bhoomipuja is delayed. Finally the Bhoomipuja ceremony will take place in a week. APIIC will then hand over the land to the company which is planning to construct a compound wall or fence around it.
The plant coming up at Andhra Pradesh will have an annual capacity of 1.8-2 million units and the company is planning to invest 1600 Crore for the plant. The company despite having good reputation could not attain the target of 50 percent market share in India due to less manufacturing capacity and the company hopes that the new plants at Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh will fill up the gap.
