A major step has taken place in the Formula e-Racing case. The Vigilance department has approved action against the officials linked to the matter.
The accused include senior IAS officer and former HMDA commissioner Arvind Kumar, along with HMDA ex-chief engineer BLN Reddy. Both officers played a significant role in the case. Recently, ACB submitted a report to the government confirming quid pro quo and recommending prosecution.
The government forwarded the report to Vigilance, which agreed to proceed against the officials and informed the state about its decision.
At the same time, the Chief Secretary sent ACB’s request for the prosecution of ex-minister KTR to the Governor. The Governor has not responded, creating uncertainty in BRS circles. ACB alleged that the then BRS government diverted funds to foreign companies against rules, causing losses of ₹54.88 crore to the state.
