To bring down the rampant black-marketing in the Hudhud affected Uttarandhra, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has announced that government will be giving essential commodities for free to every citizen. 25Kgs rice, half kg salt, half kg chilly powder, half kg urad dal, one liter palm oil will be given free for every family. Weavers and fishermen families will be give 50 Kgs rice. Government has made sure that supplies sufficient to 9 Lakh families are available in Vishakapatnam.
Government has also resurrected the damaged Raithu Bazaars. Government is buying vegetables in open market for high prices and is going to sell there at nominal prices. One Kg onions will cost 5 Rupees and other vegetables will cost 3 Rupees per kg. The government had already brought in 100s of tonnes of vegetables from the remaining districts. For people who have lost every thing in the cyclone, Government is still air lifting food packets and distributing them to people for the next few days.
