Future Looks Bleak For Star BJP Leader?

Eatala Rajender

Eatala Rajender’s political journey in Telangana has been a rollercoaster, marked by victories and strategic moves, culminating in a significant setback in the recent Assembly Elections.

As one of the star BJP candidates, he was anticipated to secure at least one of the contested seats, but unfortunately, he faced unexpected defeats in both Huzurabad and Gajwel constituencies.

In Huzurabad, a constituency he represented since 2009, Eatala lost to BRS’ Padi Kaushik Reddy, who secured 80,333 votes against Eatala’s 63,460. Kaushik’s emotional appeal and a threat to end his life, if he lost, might have influenced the outcome.

In Gajwel, Eatala’s direct challenge to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao resulted in another defeat, with a margin of 45,031 votes.

Internal dissatisfaction with party president Bandi Sanjay Kumar led some leaders to propose Eatala Rajender as the new party chief. A clash between Rajender and Sanjay added complexity to the party dynamics, contributing to the loss in Huzurabad.

Political observers suggest that Eatala should reassess his approach, considering that his assertive style might have contributed to the recent downturn.

The defeats have cast uncertainty over Eatala’s political future, and the emergence of Vodithala Pranav as a Congress candidate adds complexity, hinting at tougher battles ahead for the BJP in Telangana.
