Gaddar’s 3-Hour Wait At KCR’s Gate

Gaddar wait KCR GateBoth Chief Minister KCR and the late Praja Waggeyakaradu Gaddar were significant figures in the aspiration of Telangana to become a self-governing state.

Gaddar, known for his role as the voice of the Telangana movement and the advocate for the poor, continued to be active even after the formation of the state. He attempted to meet CM KCR on two occasions, but unfortunately, KCR did not grant him an audience.

Gaddar had to wait for hours in the sun near Pragati Bhavan on February 28, 2023, and his efforts to meet KCR were in vain.

A photo of Gaddar sitting at the gate of Pragati Bhavan with a clean shave was circulated on social media, drawing criticism towards KCR. This incident, along with other instances, reflects a perceived distance between KCR and Gaddar.

After the formation of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and its rise to power, Gaddar, like many other activists, seemed to drift apart from KCR’s circle.

Gaddar had also endeavored to establish a library in memory of his son in Venkatapur, Alwal. When he sought land allocation for this purpose, the government provided the land at market value, which he couldn’t afford. Despite requesting a discount, his plea went unanswered.

Interestingly, Gaddar passed away around the same time that KCR began his speech in the Legislative Assembly.

Even though the news of Gaddar’s demise reached KCR during his speech, he did not mention Gaddar at any point during his two-hour and 20-minute address.

This omission disappointed many, as it was anticipated that the assembly session might be adjourned in light of Gaddar’s passing. The lack of acknowledgment from KCR left Gaddar’s supporters disheartened.
