Guntur Assault: Home Minister Anitha Demands Strict Action

Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha took a very serious view of the recent attack on a woman by miscreants in Guntur. The Home Minister contacted the Guntur District Superintendent of Police (SP) to gather a comprehensive briefing on the incident and review the immediate actions taken by law enforcement.

While the SP confirmed that strict measures were immediately implemented against the culprits responsible for the assault, Minister Anitha ordered immediate, decisive action against the police personnel who showed negligence in handling the case.

Expressing severe dissatisfaction over the initial response, the Home Minister questioned why the local Circle Inspector (CI) displayed lapses in taking prompt measures right after the crime took place.

Reaffirming the state government’s zero-tolerance stance on women’s safety, she issued a stern warning that anyone attempting to harm or harass women will face uncompromising legal consequences, regardless of their status or background.

Minister Anitha explicitly directed the police department to treat criminals strictly as lawbreakers rather than viewing them through a political lens, ordering severe action against individuals who attempt to execute crimes under the cover or guise of political affiliations.
