In harsh summer of Andhra Pradesh, chilled beer has become scarce. The beer usage suddenly gone up due to summer and beer supply from a major factory in Telangana also got stopped from the last few days and so the scarcity hit. The government planned to import from Maharashtra but could not due to drought condition prevailing there.

As a result officials are expecting huge gap between demand and supply in May which will also hit the income of the state. The state government is planning to import beer from Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Union territory – Pondicherry. AP consumes 15 Lakh cases of beer every month.
One of the two breweries in AP did not renew its license this year and the other brewary is able to meet only 6-7 Lakh Cases demand and so depending on other states to meet the demand. Telangana breweries have stopped export since the usage of the state also increased drastically. Only in April, 19 Lakh Cases of beer got consumed.
