IAS Srilakshmi Gets No Relief In Supreme Court

IAS Srilakshmi Supreme Court verdict

The tainted IAS officer Srilakshmi got no relief from the Supreme Court. She had filed a discharge petition asking for her name to be removed from Jagan’s illegal assets case. The Supreme Court dismissed the petition.

The Supreme Court agreed with the decision of the High Court and dismissed her plea. Srilakshmi had filed a petition saying she followed rules in the Obulapuram Mining Case (OMC).

However, the Court observed that Srilakshmi had committed irregularities and the CBI brought to the notice of the Court that her brother-in-law had amassed large amounts of property at the time. CBI also told the Apex Court that witnesses had testified that Srilakshmi had demanded bribes in the case.

Arrested in 2011, Srilakshmi served jail for 10 months. Ever since, she has been trying to get her name removed from graft cases. So far, she hadn’t succeeded. With Supreme Court’s latest decision, looks like Srilakshmi will remain in the accused list.
