iBomma Ravi, also known as Emandi Ravi, suffered a major setback at the Nampally Court. The court rejected his bail petitions related to five cases registered by the cyber crime police. Ravi had approached the court seeking relief in these matters.
During the hearing, the police informed the court that the cases were still under interrogation. They argued that granting bail could affect the investigation. The police also stated that Ravi holds foreign citizenship and may abscond if released.
After considering these arguments, the court denied bail to iBomma Ravi. The prosecution stressed the risk of him fleeing the country and avoiding the legal process if bail was granted at this stage.
Earlier, Ravi had openly challenged the police to arrest him. Acting on this, the police tracked him down and arrested him within days in Hyderabad. His arrest followed close surveillance by law enforcement agencies.
Ravi later claimed he would stop piracy and move to the Caribbean Islands to run a restaurant. This statement worked against him, as the court viewed it as an attempt to stay beyond the reach of local police.
iBomma was once a popular website among movie lovers for hosting HD pirated films. Ravi came under intense scrutiny after pressure from TFI following the pre release leak of Hit 3 on the iBomma platform. Soon after, police placed him under surveillance and arrested him.
