Of the five MLC Seats that have fallen vacant, TDP took three and BJP and Janasena got one each.
Pithapuram Varma was left out once again despite Chandrababu Naidu making big promises to him before the elections.

There were media reports that Varma is sulking and cursing himself for supporting Pawan Kalyan in 2024.
Chandrababu reportedly asked Varma to wait until 2027 which means three years after the Government formed.

There are speculations that this is a way of cutting down Varma in Pithapuram so that he loses hold of the constituency and Pawan Kalyan can feel secure there.
Chandrababu may be sacrificing his own leader for the sake of Pawan Kalyan.

But then, this move can prove to be counterproductive for Pawan Kalyan than anyone else.
Firstly, if Varma is upset and joins YSR Congress, his personal image and YSR Congress’ pull will be a big headache for Pawan Kalyan in 2029 elections. Not all elections are wave elections like the 2024 election.
Celebrities do not find time for their constituencies. They often have a leader in there to take care of electioneering.
Chandrababu and Jagan barely visit their constituencies. Their men take care of everything.
Varma did that single-handedly in 2024.
Pawan Kalyan is a Minister now and it becomes even more difficult for him to concentrate on the constituency.
There may be Janasena leaders in the constituency and the district but they are not capable of handling it.
If Varma had been duly respected by making him an MLC, he would have become a Janasena loyalist and would have taken care of everything in Pawan Kalyan’s absence.
Now by disrespecting and disappointing him, Pawan Kalyan is only creating an unnecessary mess for himself in Pithapuram.
Probably, that is the reason why Pawan Kalyan brought Former YSR Congress MLA Pandem Dorababu days before this announcement.
Dorababu is someone who was denied a ticket by Jagan in 2024. If Pawan Kalyan thinks he can compensate for Varma who previously won from Pithapuram as an Independent, he is grossly misreading local politics.
If Pawan Kalyan fears Varma can be another Power Center and a threat to him in Pithapuram if sent to Council, he got it wrong and sadly even Chandrababu did not enlighten him properly.
