Several people were injured during YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s convoy movement in cyclone-hit areas on Tuesday. As the convoy passed through the Penamaluru constituency in Krishna district, the vehicles sped through Vuyyuru near Gandigunta and collided with each other, causing chaos and injuries to bystanders.
The accident created a massive traffic jam, blocking the road for several vehicles. Police officials said they had already requested the convoy team to proceed carefully, but their warnings were ignored. Locals expressed anger, saying these incidents keep repeating because of Jagan’s lack of concern for public safety.
YSRCP workers reportedly caused further disturbance by setting up a DJ without permission. The police intervened and removed the setup, but the disruption had already worsened the traffic situation. Officials urged party members to avoid creating unnecessary problems for commuters during such visits.
This is not the first time Jagan’s convoy has caused trouble. During his Sattenapalli visit, a 50-year-old man was killed after being hit by one of his vehicles. In another incident at Raptadu in Anantapur, a huge crowd gathered near his helicopter, and the windscreen was damaged as police failed to control the crowd. Jagan’s public tours, meant for connecting with people, are increasingly turning into safety hazards for the public and his own party members.
