Gottipati criticises Jagan disaster tours

Andhra Pradesh Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar criticised YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy for reacting late to the damage caused by cyclone Montha. He said Jagan was used to “red carpet tours” during disasters and had no right to comment now.

According to Gottipati, Jagan once toured a disaster-hit area with a red carpet laid out for him. He said Jagan lacks moral grounds to question the Chandrababu Naidu government, which acted quickly and minimised damage this time.

He even suggested that Jagan may be upset because there were no casualties. The minister stressed that the current administration ensured that not a single life was lost during the cyclone.

Meanwhile, Jagan criticised the government, calling the situation a “man-made calamity” and accusing it of failing to support farmers after cyclone Montha.

Gottipati thanked the electricity staff for their dedication and said that coordinated efforts helped avoid major loss of life and property.
